Day 1:  I can honestly say that this was the best Christmas ever.  I spoiled the heck out of myself, but I totally deserved it.

Merry Christmas! (:

Dec 24: Day 18-First day of vacation. Christmas eve with my family. Squeals of little kids opening the presents they asked for, hugs and kisses all around, and lots of food cooked by mi abuela and titi Janet. Plus, talk of a trip back home to San Juan. ((:

Dec 25: Day 19-I stayed in bed, on the couch, and lying on the floor up until now. It's about 6 o'clock. Day well spent.

Today's the day!

  • Dec. 23rd, 2009 at 6:25 PM
so i totally suck and skipped some days so here they are.

Day 13- me and my friend ashley made sugar cookies all day long. it was just one of those days that we laughed at every little thing. it was really really fun. I also didn't feel like i was missing out on anything when i passed up girls drink night.

day 14- i did lots of christmas shopping. which was stressful but kind of fun. i like doing things on my own. i also saw my old friend Trevor who i hadn't seen since the summer.

day 15- my dad made me a BLT for lunch, that made me kind of excited. i also finished up all my christmas shopping. i am really excited to wrap everything and give them to people. i don't have plans yet for the night and i'm perfectly content.

Day 59

  • Dec. 23rd, 2009 at 11:26 AM
Sometimes the mundane can make for happiness. This morning Abby and I went for a walk in the crisp winter air. She was an angel and it was a very pleasant walk. Now she's asleep on my lap. I just wrote an email to a good friend and it was pleasant to reminisce about the friendship. I commented on a friend's journal and in the course of the comment I brought back a memory of a pleasant time I spent in his community. Seth is enjoying his main Christmas present and seeing him happy makes me happy. Nothing spectacular has happened to me today, and yet it all feels so wonderful.

Due to a combination of circumstances, we had an early Christmas this year. Right now Seth is very happy enjoying his main present, and that makes me very happy too.

Day 8

It's lovely to be able to start anew, no matter how many times one may crash-and-burn.  A new day is a new chance at success.

Day 57

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 10:08 PM
We ordered a custom made dresser for our bedroom and it arrived today. I love it, it's beautifully crafted and the wood (oak with a cherry stain) matches the rest of the bedroom furniture perfectly. It looks beautiful!

day 10, 11 and 12!

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 4:12 PM
Whoops! So, when I'm on the road it's hard to post anything!!! I shall work back wards starting from today:

Day 12: I now have the house to myself for a week! I did some yoga, used the treadmill, listened to music, made a wonderful salad!! Now I am down the road at the library where I found the newest Charles De Lint book!!!

Day 11; Sunday - Helped dad with some wood, he made his famous apple crisp for after supper which I had a huge bowlful with ice cream!! I went down to visit my nanny in the evening for a half hour or so, and spent all day being lazy and didn't mind in the least!

Day 10; Saturday - I was on the greyhound bus mostly on this day heading home to nova scotia. Dad was there to meet me at supper time when the bus rolled in ON TIME!!!!!!!! We went out for fish n' chips, did a bit of shopping where I bought "The Long Way Round" book by Ewen McGregor and Charley Boorman (I think that's correct). Made it home and we had a lovely snowy drive through the mountain. Mum was waiting and so was my cat! The house was warm and cozy as always. :o)

my folks don't have internet so it may be an off and on posting here for a week!!

Happy Solstice/Yule!

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 10:32 AM
I consider this New Year's Day, and so I wish everyone a happy, blessed, joy- and love-filled year!!!

Every year we watch the Muppets Christmas Carol on DVD on Christmas Eve, but because my grandparents will be coming over and watching Hogfather then instead, we watched it tonight! It brings back childhood feelings. I can't believe another year has gone so fast. My favourite song is one that the Ghost of Christmas Present sings, but I've forgotten it already. xD

(And I just looked at the date and went HOLY HELL IT'S THE TWENTY FIRST ALREADY?! Dear GODS, where did the last week GO? O . o)

Day 56

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 9:22 PM
A LiveGerbil friend won an award for her poetry and even though it was someone else's achievement, this news made me feel very happy for her. It's a good feeling to know that I can find pleasure in the good fortune of others.

day 12

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 11:19 PM
Day 12- im actually posting on the right day!

its snowed a lot last night. not as much as they said but we still got about 8 inches. i spent lots of time shoveling and then doing laundry at the laundromat with my mom.

i love snow days because i can just relax. i spent the whole day pretty much finishing the vampire diaries books. they were amazing. i'm so upset that they are done. i love finishing a book because of the excitement of how its going to end and whats going to happen to the characters. But i hate the feeling after you finish it of like "great now its over" its like this emptiness because you have spent so much time with the characters and have immersed yourself in the world of the book that i just feel so empty when its done.

i need new books to read--ones that create an amazing exciting world that i can become a part of in my mind. [weird i know]- any suggestions??

Day Two

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 9:27 PM
Today I talked with my best friend for about an hour. We are separated by 5000 miles, an 8 hour time difference, and busy lives, but she always makes me laugh. I love her! :)
